I'm kind of obsessed with this DIY Doormat I made. It was inspired by this post on I SPY DIY. I made a few changes to it and I'm super happy with the way it came out.

Materials:

The first change I made was the rug itself. I got the Sindal Door Mat from Ikea for $4.99. Seriously, 5 bucks. I also didn't want to buy vinyl letters, so I cut them myself out of some leftover vinyl I had laying around forever... (See D-Ro, I eventually use the junk I hoard!) I don't have a machine that does it for me, so I printed out the letters at 6" high using the font Bebas Neue, traced it onto the vinyl and cut it out with some good old fashioned scissors. High tech, I know. And if I'm being 100% honest, I didn't even print it out, just traced it from my computer screen because the printer at my in-laws wasn't working... but printing would have been a lot easier and saved my hand from cramping 486 times.

I used a regular paint brush instead of a paint roller because I didn't have a paint roller and of course, since I'm DIYing, cheap was the goal.

After everything is done... time for the moment of truth.

It worked! Clean lines... I am so proud. *tear* After the paint was dry, I used a pillowcase to cover the rug and ironed the fabric paint to set it. I don't have a fancy iron like I Spy DIY does, so I just used my pink sunbeam I've had since I first went to college. :)

Um, HELLO! I LOVE IT.

Baby bump decided to pop today. Finally.  23 weeks and 4 days.

You know what I decided?? I think I'd rather be asked if I was pregnant when I wasn't, than to be told I don't look pregnant when I am. Lately so many people have told me that I "don't even look pregnant." People who know me, and people who don't. To the people that know me, do you even remember what I looked like before!!?!! I have gained what feels like 354 lbs, about half of that was in my face. I look like I am playing a game of fluffy bunny and have 12 jumbo marshmallows hiding in my cheeks. Not just that, but I haven't been able to squeeze into my regular pants since December. FOR THE LOVE people, I feel HUGE. Please just pretend you can see my baby bump?? And tell me how cute it is?? Oh and if you didn't know me before, it's even more rude. Basically what you're saying is that I pull off the whole chubby thing really well. Good to know, I guess.

HOLY CRAP, MOVE, GET OUT OF MY WAY Pregnancy Craving #2....

Homemade Vanilla Bean Milkshake.

Okay, let's talk about pregnancy cravings. They are unreal. I am 20 weeks and have had two of them. Yeah I get the, wow I could really go for some onion rings right about now "cravings" but honestly, those do not deserve to be called cravings. Pregnancy cravings are cravings on a whole different level. Have you heard that quote about love that goes "I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love." ?? Well I can't think of anything that more acurately describes how I felt about that milkshake today. I needed a milkshake. A vanilla milkshake. It was ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming and I couldn't-live-without-that-milkshake.

Meet Mozzie. The golden retriever.

He is 18.5 weeks old, I know that because he is one day less than I am pregnant. Which is pretty cool, especially because that is why we got him. Even more cool when you think about how easy it is for me to know how old he is. Ha.

I am feeling especially grateful for him today. Maybe because today I've been sick and haven't been able to spend as much time as I would like with him, I'm stuck upstairs in bed and he is downstairs in his bed. Poor thing, I miss him. He really is such a good dog, he is so adorable. He is really good at sitting (especially when there's food in the mix) and he can shake! He's not very good at staying, as in he will NOT. He is so needy, it's actually kind of hilarious. He gets so excited when we get home that sometimes he pees on the floor because he's too busy making us pet his belly and he can't be bothered to go potty. D-Ro said it used to be cute until he got so big that one accident covers half the kitchen. So true. :-/ he loves to go up and down the stairs with us, if he is in front of you he will pause halfway down to look back and make sure you are following him (I've almost tripped so many times, I get so mad.) it's kind of adorable. He is also jealous of our phones/tablets. If we are on them he tries to bite them. Once I thought I lost my phone but he had just hidden it in his kennel. Haha.

He loves to play fetch, but doesn't like to give us back the ball. He loves to pick up sticks and carry them while we walk (I die, it's so cute.) His favorite toy is a stuffed armadillo that makes a quiet squeaking sound and he loooooves to chew up paper towels. I always joke with Dan that if we had a paper towel in one hand and a steak in the other, he would plow us down to get to the paper towel. Haha. Maybe one day I will have to test that theory.

He's already growing so much, this is him the day we got him.

I think we need to re-create this picture. Maybe when my baby bump gets a little more noticeable and then we can REALLY document the changes!

From Thanksgiving.

He pulled this fur ball off my beanie, so he's looking pretty guilty. I also thought it was an animal he dragged in from outside and I almost fainted.

This is how he likes to snuggle. So annoying.

Gosh, we love him.

We can forget about our Cradle List.

If you are my friend on facebook, or have seen me in real life, you definitely already know about this... because I can't stop talking about it. After trying for 2 years (TO THE DAY! How crazy is that?!) we decided to put the whole kids thing on the back burner, revisit in a couple years, and we bought a puppy. More on him later. He deserves his own post, because he is the sweetest thing ever.

Of course right after that happened, I got pregger-ooski. I am 16 weeks along (ultrasound above is from 12 weeks) and let me tell you, morning sickness is NO joke. It has finally subsided, so I finally have enough energy to clean my toilet, walk my dog, and BLOG. Mhmmmm. Gotta document this exciting time!

Quick little note about morning sickness... I am so very grateful for it. That may sound weird, but after trying for so long, I was pretty nervous that my body still might not be ready for a baby. So I took comfort in my morning sickness. It made me feel like everything was going okay. The Saturday before my 12 week appointment I felt fabulous. I probably could have ran 1 whole block or something. I didn't think much of it, because it was a busy day... but before bed that night, I started getting nervous. I told Dan about it, and we said a little prayer for comfort. The next morning (Sunday) I woke up feeling SO sick that I couldn't even get my booty to church. Hallelujah. Dan says his prayers WORK! Ha.

As far as our cradle list goes, here's where we are.

• Hike Timp - I did this for the first time the summer before I met Dan. I want to do it again.

          Sadly, it didn't happen.

• Go to Vegas

Why do we love Vegas so much, when we don't

drink or gamble? I don't know. But we do.

• Lose 20 lbs (for me) 50 lbs (for Dan) - If I can't be preggers, I might as well get skinny, right?

Nope, still chubs. But now der's a baby in der

          so I don't even care.

• Paint the House - we want to paint the trim, the back wall in the living room and the bathroom.

• Go snowboarding. If funds don't allow, we will go sledding. We will take what we can get. ha!

• Read the entire Book of Mormon

Ashamed to admit, this didn't happen. It's now my

          2014 resolution.

• Go to Moab

          I've still never been!

• Go to all the temples from Ogden to Provo - I think there's 8? That's what I'm counting from memory...

We went to the ones close to us... halfway done?

• Go to 7 Peaks at least once. We love water slides!!

• Golf 18 holes together. We can do 9 holes, two different times if we need to.

We golfed 9, Dan did a lot more than that. We also

frequented the driving range last summer. Close enough!

• Go to the shooting range (Dan's idea... I'm afraid of guns, but I'll try it... I guess haha)

Dan is still talking about this... help me!

• Take an Archery Lesson (we got a groupon and haven't used it yet! I wanna be like Katniss!)

          Welp, wasted that $30.

• Get a massage

          I NEED ONE.

• Beat Dan in Ruzzle. HE IS SO GOOD!!!!

• Run RAGNAR. Mi-Ro is leg 8 and D-ro is leg 12.

WORST IDEA EVER. WORST. But we freaking did it.

The internet is pretty crazy. I was just doing a little online shopping for D-ro. I wanted to surprise him with a new shirt. I ended up not buying anything because I figured I should probably go and check The Rack first, I tab over to facebook and this is the first thing that pops up. Whaaaa?? That was one of the shirts I was looking at for him. I mean, geez. Let's hope he doesn't jump onto my computer today or he will know I was going to buy him something. And maybe be mad that I didn't ;) Jk he'll probably be thrilled I didn't spend the $$$.

I thought about it and YOU GUYS, this is brilliant. Seriously, things just got so great. I plan on spending the entire month of December online window shopping on Dan's laptop. That way Santa will know exactly what to bring me.  :)
